Welcome to the Big Piney Branch LibraryWelcome

 

The Big Piney Branch Library is located at 346 Fish Street and is the hub for many community activities. It offers a wide range of services including wireless internet, interlibrary loans, an ongoing book sale, art exhibits, children and adult activities, and meeting rooms.

Big Piney Branch Book Club Big Piney Branch Book Club Resumes

Now that the kids are back to school, think about joining a book club. It's a great way to enjoy books you may not normally read and to meet other people in the community. Anyone is free to join at any time. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month.

 

The September 14th discussion book is Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. Copies are available at the front desk. At this meeting, selections for the rest of the year will also be discussed.

Unable to attend the First Person: Seeing America concert? Enjoy coffee and a rare opportunity to chat with Neal Conan, host of NPR's Talk of the Nation at the Main Library in Pinedale. Exchange ideas and opinions about the news of the day, hear about the experiences of an award-winning journalist or simply get an autograph. Talk of the Nation is a national news/talk call-in show that reaches 3.4 million listeners.

A multimedia event honoring philanthropist Sally Swift and her generous contributions to the library and the Sublette County community.

* You must have a ticket to attend. At this time, there are no tickets available. If you are a ticket holder who is unable to attend, please return your ticket to the library for use by someone else. To be placed on a waiting list for available tickets, call the main library at (307) 367-4114.


First Person: Seeing America combines iconic photographs from The Metropolitan Museum of Art—searing pictures of the Civil War and haunting portraits from the Great Depression— with the music of Ensemble Galilei and narration by NPR's Neal Conan and actress Lily Knight to create a remarkable and powerful performance. It is a free community event and is jointly sponsored by the Pinedale Fine Arts Council, the Museum of the Mountain Man and the Sublette County Library Foundation, Inc. A reception will follow.
