Not only are the libraries of Sublette County beautiful buildings, they are actively used by the community. Over 74% of Sublette County residents have library cards, which is higher than the state average of 69%. When compared to other libraries in Wyoming serving populations of 10,000 or less, the Sublette County libraries have the largest collection (85,225 items total) of books, audio materials, videos, and print subscriptions. The libraries have the highest numbers of total materials circulated (borrowed) and interlibrary loan materials obtained for our patrons when compared to other libraries serving 10,000 people or less. And, the libraries of Sublette County also boast the largest number of public computers and public computer users when compared to other libraries serving 10,000 people or less.

The main library in Pinedale was designed by the Jackson, Wyoming architectural firm Carney Architects and constructed by Pacific West Construction of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Built in 1998, it features traditional log architecture on a grand scale. The design of the library is a 1998 American Institute of Architects (AIA) Nevada Design Award winner.

The Main Library's New Addition
In May 2009, the library opened its new addition, which offers expanded
meeting rooms, a Western history room, and boasts green construction.
The addition was once again designed by Carney
Architects, now known as Carney Logan Burke Architects, and was constructed
by Terra Firma
Builders of British Columbia using the SIREWALL
System. The general contractor was Fixter
Construction.

Building Cited for Award Winning Architectural Design
In 2009, the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Western Mountain Region awarded Carney Architects the Distinguished Building Award of Citation for the project for "outstanding achievement in design excellence ... for Sublette County Library Addition on Behalf of The American Institute of Architects, Western Mountain Region."

The branch library in Big Piney was designed by the Providence architectural firm of Dallas, Texas and constructed by Hogan & Associates of Centerville, Utah. Built in 2003, it features bright colors and industrial styling.
